Es wird vor allen Dingen darauf eingegangen, wie die Schüler_innen, einerseits mit Deutsch als Erstsprache und andererseits mit Deutsch als Zweitsprache, von der sprachlichen Vielfalt in Zusammenhang mit Literaturarbeit profitieren können. Bei der sprachlichen Heterogenität konzentriere ich mich weniger auf die Varietäten der deutschen Sprache, als viel mehr auf die verschiedenen Erstsprachen der Schüler_innen in den Klassen. Nachdem für diese Arbeit wesentliche Begriffe differenziert und näher erklärt werden, gehe ich auf konkrete Maßnahmen und Methoden des Literaturunterrichts ein, um im Anschluss den Fokus auf den Language Awareness-Ansatz zu legen. Grundlage dieses Kapitels stellt die Theorie von Sigrid Luchtenberg dar, wobei auch Verweise auf Weiterentwicklungen von Language Awareness, wie beispielsweise den Critical Awareness oder den Literature Awareness-Ansatz, gemacht werden. Der empirische Teil der Arbeit ergibt sich aus vier qualitativen Interviews, die mit Pädagoginnen aus dem Sekundär- und Tertiärbereich in Wien geführt wurden. Die Fragen wurden sehr offen formuliert, um den interviewten Personen die Möglichkeit für die Darlegung subjektiver und individueller Erfahrungsberichte zu bieten. Bei der Auswertung der Interviews mit dem Programm MAXQDA hielt ich mich an ein einfaches Transkriptionssystem. Die Struktur dieser Arbeit gliedert sich in drei Teile. Der erste Teil ergibt sich unter anderem aus den theoretischen Darlegungen der Möglichkeiten für einen sprachensensiblen Literaturunterricht sowie den bisherigen Forschungsergebnissen des Language Awareness-Ansatzes. Im zweiten Teil gehe ich auf das methodische Vorgehen im Zuge dieser Arbeit ein, um schlussendlich im dritten Teil die Ergebnisse der Interviews zu analysieren und mit dem Theorieteil in Verbindung zu bringen. ; In this paper I explore the advantages of the Language Awareness approach and the potential of linguistic heterogeneity in German language teaching, especially in literature teaching. I focus on how students, both native and second language German speakers, can benefit from linguistic diversity when working on comprehension and written language skills. Exploring linguistic heterogeneity in the class environment means I will concentrate less on the specifics of the German language itself and more on the different mother tongues of the pupils. After the terms essential for this thesis have been explained I will go into more concrete measures and methods of teaching writing and reading comprehension to then focus on the Language Awareness approach. This chapter is based on Sigrid Luchtenberg’s theory, with references to further developments of Language Awareness, such as the Critical Awareness or the Literature Awareness approach. The empirical part of the work is founded from four qualitative interviews conducted with secondary and tertiary educators in Vienna. The questions were formulated very openly in order to give the interviewees the opportunity to present subjective and individual experience reports. When evaluating the interviews with the MAXQDA program, I used a simple transcription system. The structure of this thesis is divided into three parts. The first part among other things results from the theoretical presentation of the possibilities for the use of the different mother languages of the students in class – focusing on reading, writing and comprehension skills as well as adopting the latest findings of the Language Awareness approach. In the second part I discuss the methodological procedure in the course of this thesis before I finally analyse the results of the interviews in the third part and associate them with the theories I propose.
